ALÉM DOS LIMITES MUNICIPAIS: ANÁLISE DA METROPOLIZAÇÃO DO COMPORTAMENTO ELEITORAL EM CALI (COLOMBIA) UTILIZANDO K-MEANS CLUSTERING

A partir da utilização da técnica de k-means clustering, o trabalho avalia o processo de metropolização do comportamento eleitoral na área metropolitana de Cali durante as eleições para o Senado de 2022. Usando como unidade de análise setecentos locais de votação localizados em vinte e um municípios – e dois departamentos – dessa área, analisa-se como o comportamento predominante no núcleo central da rede (Cali) se espalha pelos centros urbanos dos municípios circundantes. A difusão desse tipo de comportamento perde intensidade à medida que aumenta a distância e diminui a acessibilidade a esse núcleo; observam-se, também, dinâmicas completamente diferentes nas áreas rurais e periurbanas, inclusive dos municípios vizinhos.
Dessa forma, pode-se perceber a existência de um processo de metropolização que vai além das dinâmicas já estudadas de produção e consumo de bens e serviços, além de assentamento, mobilidade e governança.
