Abstract

This work aims to present a case report of a pediatric patient with Turner Hypoplasia in the premolar, as well as to present the sequence of clinical procedures performed. Patient, 12 years old, male, attended dental care at a Private Postgraduate Teaching Institution in Pediatric Dentistry – Serra, Espírito Santo (ES); accompanied by their guardian. During the anamnesis, there were no reports of systemic involvement or painful symptoms. On clinical examination, enamel changes were identified on all sides of dental element 14, with a brownish and irregular color, with structural loss and reduced size, compatible with Turner's Hypoplasia. In the past, element 54 presented an extensive carious lesion. On radiographic examination, changes in root formation were also identified. The proposed treatment consisted of reducing sensitivity with fluoride varnish and laser therapy. And temporary restoration with conventional GIC and, later, indirect restoration with composite resin. The approach made it possible to reestablish chewing function, as well as restore aesthetics and health. However, in order to guarantee the longevity and health of element 14, monitoring will be carried out every 6 months, until the root apex is closed.
