Objective: To verify the evolution of the indicators of decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) at 12 years of age recorded in SB Brasil 2010 compared to those recorded in SB Brasil 2023. Method: An observational, analytical cross-sectional study comparing the indicators at 12 years of age recorded by SB Brasil 2010 and the same indicators recorded in SB Brasil 2023. For this purpose, the public database of the main results report of SB Brasil 2010 and SB Brasil 2023, made available by the Ministry of Health, was used. Results: In Brazil, there was a decrease in this indicator, with a reduction recorded in all regions of the country, except the Central-West region, where there was an increase. Among the 26 capitals and Brasília, there was a decrease in 21 of them, in one the indicator remained the same, and in 5 there was an increase in this indicator. Only in the South region and in 10 capitals was this difference statistically significant. Conclusion: There was an improvement in these indicators in Brazil, but with great disparity between the various cities and regions of the country.
