Review of the catalogue Amilcar de Castro: Studies and Works (2014), the result of the namesake exhibition organized by the Instituto de Arte Contemporânea (IAC) in 2013-2014, in partnership with the Museu de Belas Artes de São Paulo (muBA) and the Instituto Amilcar de Castro. The curatorial scope, texts, and graphic design of the catalogue were analyzed in relation to the exhibition project. The balance between bidimensional and tridimensional works presented were highlighted, with an emphasis in the studies, drawings and models that constitute Amilcar de Castros' creative thought in different materials and supports – thus differentiating itself from other publications about the artist. Amilcar de Castro is a national reference in the expansion of the field of tridimensional expression into public and urban spaces, and the catalogue is an excellent starting point for research into his production.
