Abstract

Abstract: This experience report highlights the interventions carried out with a group of young practitioners of the sport volleyball, at the Fundação Batistense de Esportes de São João Batista, in Santa Catarina, intervening in the midst of an environment that aims at the socialization and contact of adolescents with sport. Acquiring a greater understanding of the processes of formation of the athlete's identity and building together with them greater possibilities of action. The most significant objective of this research is to report the experience of implementing the development of socio-emotional skills through Psychology, while specific objectives are to identify the positive impacts of this professional work in the sports context. Justifying this action through the understanding that an athlete – when developed at his physical and emotional levels – is taking a step forward to increase his performance. Thus, in order for this work to be possible, tools, techniques and concepts of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) were used, with the inclusion of elements of sports psychology. Data collection and analysis was carried out through a qualitative approach, with descriptive objectives.
