Notas Para Uma Análise da Produção em Ciências Sociais Sobre Doping no Esporte
Abstract
The use of doping is one of the most polemic issues in modern sport. The acceptance of doping is narrowly connected with the judgment of its morality, sanity and legality. Almost all human societies had made use of some process to increase human capabilities. However the use of doping in modern sport has been subject of growing moral andor legal restraints. One could note that doping in sports has attracted more attention of philosophers and biologists than sociologists and anthropologists. In face of the contemporaneous relevance of sport phenomenon the aim of this paper is present and discuss some texts which investigated doping in sport with theoretical approach from social sciences. We reviewed the K. Heinilä’s theory of totalization in modern sport (1982), the use of the Merton’s concept of anomy by G. Lüschen (1984) and K-H Bette (1995) and the use of Games Theory and the ‘doping game’ by G. Breivik (1992). We intend to begin a theoretical debate on limits and possibilities of sociological investigation on doping in modern sport.
