Futebol e sociabilidade
apontamentos sobre as relações jocosas futebolísticas
Abstract
Abstract
This paper seeks to discuss some methodological issues and preliminar results from an ethnographic study held on bars on the Greater Porto Alegre area where supporters watch football matches in group, from the standpoint of the complex relation between the social uses of football on Brazilian culture, its manifestations on the language of the participants and, more specifically, the way through which the social interaction between them accounts for a sort of competitive sociability, that I call football joking relationships. I must point that the research is still in the making and the fieldwork data are initial, although they point out to some general trends that I would like to explore about the interactional-linguistic forms peculiar to the situation and to the adjacency pairs of challenge and reply among the participants.
