Abstract

This work analyzes a sampling commemorative editions of anniversary of the maga-zine Fluir, main Brazilian printed vehicle directed toward surfing. It explores how such edi-tions construct the memory of the publication, which has 22 years of existence, with regard to the different temporalities past, mainly, but also present and future. The analysis centers on the possibilities of appropriation of the past. From the theoretical point of view, the article is centered in the concept of memory, understood not as something that is recouped or rescued in relation to the past, but constructed actively from existing demands and from disputes tak-ing place in the present.
