O jogador-de-desempenho joga o futebol-obsceno: o futebol na sociedade de Byung-Chul Han
Abstract
Contemporary society is characterized by the imperative of performance in its actions. When disciplinary power ceases to be a protagonist and smart power takes the lead (based not on imposition, but on seduction and induction to act), an illusion is created with regard to the worker's ability to self-govern. Society, from this, finds itself in the false idea of freedom and control of time, entering, in fact, in a voluntary exploration, no longer the limits of disciplinary power, but the constant stimulus of smart power. In this way, contemporary football shows itself, once it is within this society, in a similar way. There are a large number of performance players, that is, figures who are convinced (but not obliged) to act in a specific way, (self)exploring themselves to achieve such a feat and not opening themselves up to the unpredictability of the game. In this way, a football of obscenity and not of eros is played: the strict fulfillment of functions evokes a transparency that society desires, but which in the game does not make sense, thus failing to be played in fullness.
