O Futebol como demarcador identitário. Novos traços e contornos da futebolização de jovens no Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

This text presents new data from a long-term investigation into the behaviors of youth in Rio Grande do Sul linked to contemporary and post-modern football, collected in 2023. Monitoring of this study has been done through questionnaires and interviews (focus groups), applied every three years since 2017. It is clear that some conditions of Footballization have been consolidated and ratified in recent years, while for other circumstances – such as affiliation with local and international clubs – there are fluctuations conditioned by the success of teams and celebrities on the circuit world football. There is also a need to maintain a research agenda in the coming years to continue monitoring the productivity of Footballization among young people and children.
