REGIONALISTAS E NACIONALISTAS, HÍBRIDOS E FLÂNEURS OU PUROS: IDENTIDADES FUTEBOLIZADAS DE CRIANÇAS E JOVENS NA COMUNIDADE VALENCIANA
Abstract
This research is based on studies on the Futebolização of childhood and youth and their productivity in the (de)(re)construction of individual and collective identities linked to postmodern soccer. Based on quantitative data, collected through forms in November and December 2021 in soccer schools with children and young people who are fans of the sport in the Valencian Community, more in-depth analyzes were carried out, crossing them with other recent researches developed in the Spain and Rio Grande do Sul (Brasil). Among the soccer preferences of the Valencian Community are: Valencia CF, the Spanish national team, Real Madrid CF, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain FC; the competitions of La Liga, Champions League, Copa del Rey; and players/celebrities Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappé, Neymar, as well as local idols Soler and Gayà. The results presented indicate similarities between children and young people from Rio Grande do Sul and Valencia, with behaviors far removed from the fanatical fan – solid and rooted in local values – of recent previous decades, and closer to the models of contemporary soccer fanatics.
