Abstract

ABSTRACT

This work intent to show how urban reforms realized in Rio since 1850 to early decades of 20th century helpened to dislocate and to extinguish an important collection of marks and symbols of Rio de Janeiro downtown landscape. That was related to urban tradition medieval. In this text the primordial focus treat about the role of Pereira Passos government and your broad set of works, simultaneously supported by municipality and federal government during Rodrigues Alves administration.
