Torture, Subjugation, and Scourging in Assyrian Reliefs

This article have to purpose to address some Assyrian practices of subjugation, torture and scourge, by the Assyrian reliefs and textual sources dating from the first millennium BC. These sources provide us with information about torture, subjugation and scourge, and policies concepts who based the constitution of the Assyrian empire. In this paper we discuss the treatment of dominated nations, realizing features that seek legitimacy, and the normalization of power and declaration of war and violence, followed by ideological concepts implicit in the composition of the reliefs that narrate the battles that were largely represented and documented at different locations in Assyrian palaces.
