The Athenian Legal System and Enmity: The Case of *Against Meidias*

Abstract

 This study aims to analyze the use of the courts in the game of political and personal rivalries in Classical Athens. For this we will use the speech Against Medias, example of how a personal quarrel and a political feud go together. The speech of Demosthenes proves the old rivalry of his enemy and details his attempts to use the legal system to prejudice him.
