Abstract

Cleopatra and her world from a Western perspective, remain shrouded in an exotic, mystical and attractive. This aspect is present in numerous representations that were made throughout history. In the proposed research, the objective is to analyze the representation of Cleopatra in film production in the first half of the twentieth century. We intend to realize how the image of the Queen was used to affirm and / or explore contemporary values and ideals to this production, which keeps a relation with their representation in antiquity.
