In this article, I will detail what are the "stochastic arts" and the similarities between them and the isocratic philosophy. Therefore, we will study the uses of the past in this philosophia as techne of logos and politics, as well as the reasons for Isocrates valuing the opinions (doxai) instead of the possibility of a stable and secure knowledge (episteme). Finally, we will focus on the notion of phronesis and its importance as the virtue of Isocrates’ philosophos.
