This paper presents the philosophical Greek groups (Stoics, Epicureans, Academics, Peripatetics) in the work on ethics entitled De Officiis ("On Duty"), written by the Roman author Marcus Tullius Cicero. We intend to demonstrate the elements of its eclecticism, which model – Panetius of Rhodes – he follows, what original points Cicero develop and to what extent.
