This paper seeks to examine some images identified in establishments, cemeteries, logos, and other places in the city of Joao Pessoa containing Egyptian elements (Obelisks, pyramids, pharaoh, phoenix) in its composition, which we characterize as Egyptomania, a process of transculturation millennial. It will also be made an overview of the history and of the meaning of egyptomania, as well as its symbolic manifestations, here exemplified by the photografs. It will also be studied how these images run through different periods of time - past and present- turning to be also necessary to take a reflexion about the symbolism contained in their representations. For such analysis we opted for the use of a qualitative approach searching for the value of interpretations of these phenomena and their equivalences, from guiding principles of deepening knowledge and research.
