Abstract

This article intends to share Leon Trotsky’s thoughts about the Russian Revolution, the tasks and propositions of the IV Communist International and the capitalist system during the 1930s in Russia and Europe. Therefore, the object of study for analysis and reflection will be the “Transition Program for the Socialist Revolution” in its last formulation in the year of 1938. Trotsky’s legacy for the Russian Revolution, especially his critical opinion about the direction of the revolution in process, although invisible during the period of Stalinist hegemony, constitutes an important contribution to marxist thinking, as well as the understanding of globalized capitalism in the 21st century.
