Abstract

In September 2016, Colombia signed a peace agreement with the country’s largest guerrilla group, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). Through the peace agreement, Colombia seeks to end a civil conflict that dates more than fifty years. With the purpose of contribute to the debate on the peace process in the country, the objective of this paper is to investigate the role played by the United States in the Colombian armed conflict from 1994 to 2016.
