Abstract

The present analysis aims to identify elements of the growing rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran, which since 2011 has become central to Middle East stability in a scenario where both regional powers seek hegemony in the Gulf. The work splits into three distinct stages: the attempt to identify the elements that give rise to this hostile relationship between the actors, after the Iranian Revolution in 1979; identify the actions and perspectives of both, in the context of the Arab Spring, as well as the actions undertaken by them; and finally to analyze the cases of Bahrain and Yemen [...].
