The present article aims to understand the woman suffrage movement in the United Kingdom during the 19th and 20th centuries. The year of 1867 highlights the beginning of a movement that lasted until the year of 1928, when the right to vote was given to every British woman. The pathway and some relevant events will be mentioned, such as important people as the Pankhursts will be underlined. Furthermore, the context of the First World War will also be considered, as well as its possible influences to women’s enfranchisement in 1918, even thought it was to a restricted group.
