Abstract

The women’s suffrage movement accomplished more than the right to exercise the vote. In the spectrum of the human essence, it consolidated the idea that women are citizens. This article deals mainly with theoretical concepts of the Marxist and Feminist thoughts of the first and second waves, in order to understand what in fact was a woman’s experince under Communism and how the political participation of Russian women has changed since a redemocratization.
