A ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE UNIVERSALIZATION AND ITS INCLUSION IN THE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Abstract

The environment debate emerged in the International Relations field as an issue of great relevance in the last decades of the twentieth century and early of twenty-first century. The concern for the consequences of environmental degradation led the topic, which had already been studied by scientific scholars, to be included in the international political agenda of the countries and in the United Nations social agenda, based on the claim of global societies regarding to environmental problems and concern for global security.
