Challenges of collaboration between startups and large companies

This study analyzes collaboration challenges between startups and large companies within corporate acceleration. The methodology involved fifteen semi-structured interviews (five large companies and ten startups), analyzed across three categories: selection, contracting, and Proof of Concept (PoC) execution. Results indicate that, despite distinct profiles, both actors converge toward synergy. However, critical barriers hinder partnerships, specifically institutional slowness, excessive bureaucracy, and low team engagement. These findings provide insights for mitigating bottlenecks in open innovation programs and improving corporate-startup integration.
