The article aimed to understand the process of professional socialization of women in political spaces. A qualitative exploratory research was used, with ten in-depth interviews with councilors and deputies, based on the three phases of socialization (HUGHES; 1958; DUBAR, 2005): "Passage through the mirror", "Installation of the duality” and “Adjustment of the conception itself”. It was noted that women imagined an environment that would allow them to debate ideals, increase the female quorum and space for speech. Despite the ideal models, there is monitoring of negative aspects of the real model, composed of bureaucracy, exposure, harassment and lack of credibility.
