Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

The Journal Studies in Management and Society publishes academic contributions in the form of scientific articles and bibliographic reviews in the Portuguese, English, Spanish and French languages, which are in accordance with the editorial policy of the journal.

The evaluation process of articles submitted to Journal Studies in Management and Society (ISSN 2525-9261) presents two stages. The first step consists of a preliminary evaluation of the Editor, Deputy Editors and Editorial Coordinator, who examine the suitability of the work to the mission and objectives of the journal and make a Desk Review evaluation. The second, the evaluation itself, in the double blind review system, to be carried out by two reviewers.

Articles submitted to Journal Studies in Management and Society must be unpublished, that is, it may not have been published or submitted simultaneously for evaluation in another journal. Nevertheless, submission of papers published in annals of congresses, seminars, symposiums is allowed, and must be formatted according to the editorial norms and submitted for evaluation.

The maximum number of authors per article is 5 (five); And after the initial submission it is not possible any changes in the authorship of the articles.

The articles must be submitted through an electronic form available on the magazine's website (http://www.revistaeas.uff.br). Regarding the format of the articles:

    Files must be submitted in one of the following formats: a) Word 6.0 or higher (.DOC or DOCX), b) Post Script (.PS); C) OpenDocument (ODT, OTT) or d) Word Perfect (.WPD).
    Graphics and Figures, should be sent in separate files (one file per figure) in the formats: Tagged Image File Format (.TIF) or Encapsulated PostScript (.EPS), BitMap (.BMP) with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI (PPI).

    References: It is mandatory to use the APA standards to present scientific papers.

The first page of the article should include: a. Title of the article; B. Abstract, abstract or abstract, according to the language of the article, containing between 150 and 250 words; w. Between three and five keywords, keywords or keywords (according to the main language of the article); D. Abstract (or summary in Portuguese for articles written in English); and. Keywords in English for articles written in English. From the second page should come the body of the article;

In relation to the title of the article, the articles must contain the title in Portuguese, English or Spanish, being the first in the language of the article; Only the first word and proper names should start with a capital letter. In the next line, title translated into English, if the article is in Portuguese or Spanish. Article written in English must present translation of the title to Portuguese (for foreign authors this service is provided by the Journal)

The abstract should contain between 150 and 250 words and present the objective, approach, methodology, results and conclusions in a single paragraph in the corresponding language, following the same language order of the titles. The article should present a summary in the language of the article and also an abstract in English. In the case of articles written in English, a summary should be provided in English.

The article should present three to five keywords, keywords, keywords, according to the language of the article, as well as keywords for articles in a language other than English. The full text of the submitted article should not exceed 30 pages, contemplating all the elements.

The figures, tables or tables must be presented in the body of the text of the article, near the place where they are mentioned. In addition, figures, tables and tables, inserted in the text, must be made available separately, each in a separate supplementary file, in the source format of the software in which they were generated. For figures, the recommended minimum resolution is 300 DPI. All files must be submitted together with the main file.

In line with the trend presented by the main Brazilian journals and the ANPAD (National Association for Post-Graduation and Research in Administration), Journal Studies in Management and Society adopts the norms of the American Psychological Association (APA), aiming to be a journal that reaches a larger group of researchers,  more familiar with this citation standard.

We remind you that the APA Rules adopt the author-date system, that is, the author's last name and the year of publication. The list of references should be presented in alphabetical order at the end of the text, according to the standards of the American Psychological Association (APA, 2010).

The list of references should contain only the authors quoted in the text, with their complete information. We recommend the following references to APA standards:

Brazilian Administration

Studies of issues related to the structure and internal functioning of Brazilian and transnational organizations in their operations in national territory. The focus of this line is on reflections on the major areas of management - strategy, people management and labor relations, marketing, logistics, information technology and finance - and their possible interrelationships

State, Organizations and Society

The analysis of the historical construction and the current configuration of the relations between the different types of organizations with the State and with civil society. In this sense, it addresses the role of social actors, their different forms of insertion and participation in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of policies in the three institutional spheres.
