Abstract

The proposed study aims to delimit and discuss the factors that determine the process of technology transfer in the area of Bioeconomy through a case study carried out at Embrapa Milho e Sorgo. In this sense, first, a literature review was carried out in order to define the concept and scope of the Bioeconomy area, characterize the technology transfer process, as well as identify the existence of publications that specifically deal with technology transfer in that area. Then, a documental research was carried out and questionnaires were sent to the organization's professionals involved with the process, in compliance with the defined qualitative research methodology. The collected data were processed and coded using the MAXQDA 2020, according to a set of analysis categories previously defined from the literature. In turn, the results indicated the prominence, in the respondents' perception, of organizational/institutional factors, such as the role of technology qualification, the social, economic, political and regional context in which the research, development and negotiation of technology will take place; and market factors, such as market access, the academic-industry interface and support for innovation, as determining factors for the achievement and success of technology transfer processes in the Bioeconomy area.
