Resumo

This paper discusses about the implications of the emergence of a newIPR regime in three dimensions: (1) the basic an upstream research; (2) theNorth-South trade-related inequalities and conflicts; and, (3) the social usefulnessof patent grants. The article pays major attetion on IPR over healthcareand alive organisms and its threatment in TRIPS agreement.
