This text analyzes characters from two films: Shame (2012), by Steve McQueen and Gran Torino (2008), by Clint Eastwood. It was established as objectives for the development of this text to think through two points: 1st) Seduction, loneliness, shame, fear and male sexuality for Brandon. And for the character Kowalski: 2°) Inheritances of War, loneliness, old age and fear in the construction of a virile masculinity. These questions are thought here with other, more general, analyzed with thetheories of authors such as Connell, Fabris, Louro, among others. Thus, it can be concluded that the two protagonists have complex identities, they are circumspect and respond to the events of their lives acting more fairly or unfairly, however, with variations in shades moved by feelings such as fear or loneliness.
