MOZAMBIAN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN COVID'S 19 TIMES

Abstract

This paper aims to analise how national Mozambican newspapers have been broaching the question of domestic violence in this country during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research methodology applied was bibliographic and qualitative, a search in Mozambican newspapers for the keyword ‘domestic violence’ was conducted, and the news published as of April 2020 selected. At that time in Mozambique, not only had social distancing measures been adopted but also a state of emergency been called until February 2021. Then, an analysis on the contents of the selected news was conducted, given the increasing numbers of domestic violence cases in the said country.
