Abstract

Born from the confluence of other rivers, the Paraíba do Sul River has been sedimenting the plains to the north of Rio de Janeiro since before the region was a city and before it had its current name: Campos dos Goytacazes. Parabyaíbayala - a combination of the words "Paraíba" and "Abya Yala" - is born as a video performance that seeks to explore the river-dream-body-image relationship articulated with the ancestry of this river that crosses different territories, mapping how it affects us in the dream field. On the basis of this performance, we seek to present the account of an experience, in the field of performance, crossed by the multiplicity of possible entanglements of the body-subject with the body-nature. River-resource? River-ent? River-person? What is our relationship to the river? Water is essential for hygiene, for pleasure, for life in general. We ingest the river all our lives, we bathe indirectly in its waters. But beyond its status as a resource, what fables can the river tell us? Does the river dream? What openings, cracks, gaps, holes need to be made in everyday life in order to establish communication?
