#BoycottBlizzard: Capitalismo de Plataforma e a Colonização do Jogo

Abstract

Este artigo discute os mecanismos de governança e controle exercidos pela desenvolvedora de games Blizzard sobre seus jogadores e consumidores. Baseia-se na controvérsia que ocorreu entre a empresa e o jogador profissional Blitzchung, que se manifestou a favor dos protestos iniciados em Hong Kong em março de 2019. O atrito, além de despertar tensões entre consumidores e produtora, revela os métodos e dispositivos de dominação empregados pela empresa contra seus jogadores. Considerando a Blizzard como uma plataforma, analisamos as ferramentas enredadas pela corporação para manter suas engrenagens estáveis, que alavancam discussões a respeito da plataformização da sociedade e da superposição entre jogo e trabalho.
