Abstract

This essay proposes to present and dialogue about digital games in School Physical Education. To this end, we contextualize what culture is and its relationship with games, converging on electronic, digital, video games or games and historically reaching the present day, where we have the main platforms: consoles, computers and cell phones. The topicality of this theme is evident when identified as programmatic content in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). In this investigation, we found and report studies that point out that applying digital games promotes more participation in class, better group interaction and students started to care more about the practice of regular physical activities. We conclude that digital games, in addition to being a historical construction of humanity, their insertion as a content of School Physical Education is pertinent.
