Corumbaense Futebol Clube na compreensão de escolares da região fronteiriça Brasil-Bolívia
Abstract
ABSTRACT: This study addresses the understanding of students from the border region of Brazil and Bolivia about Corumbaense Futebol Clube (CFC), a sports club of significant historical and cultural relevance to Corumbá, in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), a Brazilian region that borders Bolivia. The research explores how young people enrolled in public and private high schools in Corumbá-MS understand basic information about aspects that characterize the identity of CFC. To this end, a semi-structured questionnaire with objective and open questions was applied to the students, and the quantitative and qualitative analyses were made considering the assertive answers and the profile of the subjects. The study data revealed that the symbols and identity elements that characterize CFC are present, in part, in the general memory of the students. On the other hand, the information also indicates that there are important gaps about CFC, especially when the respondents make mistakes with basic data about the team. Therefore, initiatives that promote awareness and participation of the school community can be fundamental to expanding the fan base and intensifying the emotional bond with the club in the region among border students.
