“A woman's place is where she wants” women's football and women's (in)visibilities in the Brazilian scene
Abstract
Women's football has social restrictions in Brazil, but there are still gaps that are not mainly linked to the rules used for scorers. Therefore, thinking about the reflection on this modality at the national level and deepening spaces of visibility and empowerment of women in the student environment as perspectives and difficulties faced with a female objective at the national level and reflecting on the perception of football in women of participation and spaces for female sports practice. For its development, what a vision thought and carried out with the aim of providing information about the women that the players practice in the ways of their journey was elaborated. There was a population that follows women who play soccer in five Brazilian regions, North, Northeast, Midwest, Southeast, and South. The sample consists of 171 women, 170 of which are cisgender women and one transgender, aged between 11 (eleven) and 59 (fifty-nine) years. It is concluded that, until today, the lack of incentive and prejudice have been decisive in the trajectory of women who practice leisure, whether it is carried out in clubs, schools, or leisure areas.
