Abstract

Este artigo é resultado da palestra proferida no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geografia da UFF (aula inaugural/2010). Optei pela reflexão sobre o caminho metodológico trilhado ao longo do período em que me dedico à pesquisa em Geografia centrada na temática da arenização no Sudoeste do Rio Grande do Sul. Esta opção se deve à necessidade de explicitação das formas de construção da produção geográfica com a qual nos envolvemos, além de refletir sobre a práxis. É uma reflexão sobre os caminhos trilhados, sobre o referencial teórico que dá sustentação à pesquisa e sobre a metodologia. A práxis resultante deste processo indica também nosso olhar sobre a Geografia e sua divisão clássica em Geografia Humana e Geografia Física.
