Abstract: This article seeks to think of international security in geographic terms, discussing the spatial dimension of security, which is generally neglected in studies carried out by disciplines that traditionally delve into the subject. There are two approaches to explore the geographical dimension of security: territories (and borders) and networks (and flows), translated as territorial vector and reticular vector. The territorial vector is the focus of security based on state territoriality in its most immediate expressions, the territory and the border. The reticular vector, in contrast to the first, explores non-territorial devices, related to circulation, networks and flows that cross borders.
