The article seeks to reflect on the relationship between space and social action and on how conflict can be an analytical key for Geography based on the work of Carlos Walter Porto-Gonçalves. To achieve this, it addresses social struggles, protagonists, and the geographical aspect underlying analyses of political situations and their subjects. Thus, we emphasize the crucial theoretical and political importance of space for the analysis of social conflicts and revisit a debate that has persisted for over twenty years (RAMOS, 2003), which remains relevant amid the growing conflictivity in Brazil and worldwide. This recovery underscores the significance of the geography of social conflicts as a method in the field of social and political sciences.
