Abstract

This article deals with how the direct and indirect costs of producing space, more specifically the urbanisation of popular territories, housing buildings and community facilities, including their external effects, are handled in the decision-making processes on the different alternatives that are imposed - and often opposed - in comparative analyses of construction feasibility. Critical notes and references to methodologies are presented, which are also intended to be tools for decision-making processes on the most suitable alternatives, both on an architectural and urban scale, making the classic question ‘does it add up?’ more complex.
