Abstract

Dando continuidade ao nosso projeto de traduzir a grande obra de Alfred Hettner “Die Geographie, ihre Geschichte, ihr Wesen und ihre Methode”, apresentamos nesse número a parte subsequente ao texto “A Essência e as Tarefas da Geografia”, aqui mesmo publicado no vol.13, n°26, 2011, p.136-149.  Tradução: Leonardo Arantes. Agradecemos especiais ao Prof. Dr. Flávio Nascimento pela ajuda com conceitos-chave da Biogeografia e Geomorfologia, bem como ao Prof. Dr. Rogério Haesbaert pela revisão do texto, e a Daniele Maciel Carval e Holger Wetzstein pela ajuda na tradução de algumas passagens.
