Abstract

This article aims to present the translational activity within the journalistic field, establishing the interface proposed by Zipser (2002) in which the journalist becomes a translator of facts, above all. Based, on the one hand, on Nord’s functionalist proposal (1991) to contemplate the translation concept, and, on the other, on Esser’s model (1998), which organizes the constitutive factors of journalism, we intend to show how a piece of news is prospectively constructed, i.e., from a source fact forward its reader.

Meta Elisabeth Zipser, UFSC

Professora associada da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Atua no curso de Graduação em Letras e junto à PGET - Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos da Tradução no qual orienta trabalhos voltados à Tradução Jornalística e outras modalidades comunicativas em abordagem funcionalista. É Doutora em Lingua e Literatura Alemã pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP) com enfoque na área da Tradução. Coordena o grupo de pesquisa TRAC - Tradução e Cultura e coordena projetos de extensão voltados ao ensino de lingua alemã em comunidades afins. Linhas de pesquisa: tradução jornalística, cultura e funcionalismo para os estudos da tradução.

Michelle de Abreu Aio, UFSC

Mestranda em Estudos da Tradução pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC, 2009/2011) e cursando Pós-Graduação Lato Sensu em Tradução de Inglês pela Universidade Gama Filho (2011/2012). Pesquisa os temas: português brasileiro e europeu, tradução jornalística, tradução e cultura. É tradutora credenciada pelo SINTRA Sindicato Nacional dos Tradutores, filiado à FIT Federação Internacional de Tradutores. Membro do grupo de pesquisa TRAC - Tradução e Cultura (UFSC).
