GIDE, GENET: INSERTION AND RUPTURE IN THE HOMOEROTIC NARRATIVE
Keywords:
Homoeroticism. Gide, André. Genet, Jean. French LiteratureAbstract
By analysing and tracing a parallel between L'Immoraliste by André Gide and Notre-Dame-des-Fleurs by Jean Genet it is possible to identify the act of writing a homoerotic narrative as a potential act towards its insertion in a discourse system about sexuality and in literary tradition. This act is considered as capable of producing a rupture due to its permanence in this same system, while the analysis of the acts of stealing and murdering are viewed as gestures of this same rupture.
