Abstract

This research aims to carry out a systematic analysis of the literature on the Manhattan Project in the USA during World War II and the analysis of projects from their life cycle, in order to identify correlations that allow analyzing the development of the atomic bomb from the stages of its life cycle. In this way, the research lent itself to analyze the development of the Manhattan Project in the context of the Second World War in order to subdivide it from the conceptual stages of planning, execution and finally the conclusion stage. It was verified as to the possibility of carrying out such a division, so that the life cycle of the Manhattan project begins with the realization that the axis forces were developing atomic weapons and that this was already at an advanced stage, it develops with the building of the bomb and carrying out its tests, and ending with the shutdown of the Manhattan Engineer District in 1947.
