Abstract

This study aims to identify how journalistic practices are being impacted by Generative Artificial Intelligence. To this end, it uses the Actor-Network Theory and Human-Machine Communication as theoretical support. A research is conducted based on categorical content analysis of AI use policies published by nine Brazilian journal vehicles in the years 2023 and 2024, supported by other methods such as a bibliographic review. The study observed the emergence of new journalistic practices with the incorporation of a new technological actor, the expansion of the division of tasks between humans and machines in the content production process, and the elimination and addition of tasks for human journalists. The incorporation of technology in all stages of the journalistic process is also evident, with emphasis on content production.
