Abstract

This article aims to address the different ways in which the Latin American figure has been or still is represented on the stages of Broadway, the core of the American musical theater, understanding how its dramatizations can influence and expand specific American convictions. The way characterization is done can help perpetuate stereotypes or break walls, remodeling outdated visions, using the concept of soft power to do so.
