Abstract

The issue of peace and war is an important historical and theoretical element of the power relations in the world, as well as the International Relations discipline itself. Many authors have proposed to analyze the question in such a way as to recognize the impossibility of achieving “perpetual peace” or a possible order as close as possible to peace. The former were based on the analyzes of Machiavelli, Hobbes, Carr, and Morgenthau, while the latter relied on tributary theses on Grotius, Kant, Keohane, and others.
