O IMPACTO DOS MOVIMENTOS SUFRAGISTAS NO REINO UNIDO E NOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DA AMÉRICA

Abstract

The women’s suffragist movement that happened in United Kingdom and in the United States of America have showed differences in its performances. Because, while in UK there was a break in the movement between suffragists e suffragettes, which one used more peaceful methods, the other used violence to reach the goals, in the US, it was used resistance methods. Even with the differences in the strategies, the goal itself was the same, to grant the vote. Besides that, the different methods had a strict impact in each society, because before the women’s suffrage movement, women were seen as fragile beings, and after that, they were called criminals for fighting for their rights.
