THE ALT-RIGHT AND INTERNET RACISM
Keywords:
Alt-right, Stormfront, Internet, White supremacy, RacismAbstract
Born as dissidents of traditional conservatism, the alt-right defines itself as a philosophy based on the feeling of hatred, supremacy, and injustice committed against the white population, and its presence is seen especially in moments of debate about political and racial issues. This article aims to outline a general profile of how this group is formed, what values are defended, and mainly their views on the black population. Using the activities of users of the Stormfront forum (the largest openly white nationalist forum on the internet) as a reference, we aim to provide an overview of how racism is built and how it adapts to the historical moment it’s in, focusing mainly on the posts of the users.
