WEST AFRICA REGIONAL SECURITY COMPLEX:
THE INTERDEPENDENCE OF ECOWAS COUNTRIES SECURITY DYNAMICS IN COMBATING BOKO HARAM TERRORISM

This article proposes to analyze the changes in the security dynamics of ECOWAS countries in West Africa, resulting from the emergence and action of the terrorist group Boko Haram in the region. In light of the Theory of Regional Complexes by authors Barry Buzan, Ole Wæver and Jaap de Wilde (1998), it will be possible to demonstrate how security interactions between West African states have led to the consolidation of a security complex, but weak in its role to combat terrorist threats.
